Fallen Glory

They don't keep the extravagant tail feathers all year; the attitude, though, that's permanent.
I don't envy whomever has to colour-coded cable-tie the peacocks whatsoever.

My mum shares her garden with a male pheasant.

Its bravery varies with its plumage. In spring it looks most dramatic, and is noticeably braver about approaching humans to steal food.

I'm slightly surprised the peacock's attitude doesn't similarly vary.

Well, it is a zoo peacock; it gets chased by two year olds and has its display efforts interrupted by flash photography.

So I suspect it's just a bit grumpy, generally, and entirely inured to humans being around.
